The University Choir begins its 10-day winter tour with a concert in York.
The 90-minute performance will include music representing early European, South African, early American, French, British, Native American, Scandivavian, and Lithuanian cultures. The choir will perform excerpts from major works including J.S. Bach's "Magnificat," Ralph Vaughan-Williams' "Serenade to Music," and Francis Poulenc's "Gloria." They will also perform unique selections, "Numerations," a highly complex composition by Jonas Tamulionis and "Horizons," which is based on the suffering of an indigenous tribe in South Africa.
First United Methodist Church is located at 309 E. 7th Street.
