Fall International Film Series: "A Man Called Ove"
Olin B Lecture Hall

The Modern Language Department's Fall International Film Festival concludes with the 2015 Swedish drama/comedy, "A Man Called Ove."

Ove, an ill-tempered, isolated retiree who spends his days enforcing block association rules and visiting his wife's grave, has finally given up on life just as an unlikely friendship develops with his boisterous new neighbors."

This film is 116 minutes and is rated PG-13.

Olin B Lecture Hall is located in the Olin Hall of Science, one block east of 50th Street and St. Paul Ave. It is free and open to the public.

Fall Visiting Writers Series
Elder Gallery

The Fall Visiting Writers Series continues with Carol Guess, poet, fiction writer and essayist.

Guess is the author of numerous books of poetry and prose, including Darling Endangered, Doll Studies: Forensics, and Tinderbox Lawn. A frequent collaborator, she has co-authored several books, most recently The Reckless Remainder and With Animal (both with Kelly Magee). In 2014 she was awarded the Philolexian Award for Distinguished Literary Achievement by Columbia University. She teaches in the MFA program at Western Washington University.

Her free reading begins at 6 p.m. in Elder Gallery, located inside the Rogers Center for Fine Arts at 50th Street and Huntington Ave.
